704486 2008-09-11 21:30:00 Hi,

having weird problem with windows media 9 right now.....there is a site i
use to watch soccer from back home, and its split into a few sections:
1) the games live
2) highlights of previous games

I cant watch the highlights fine (streaming HTTP), but cannot get the live
test to work (also streaming HTTP), the server is defo not down, as it worked
when I tried at my office today, and the owner of the site/other members tell me its fine for them

The link to the content you wish to
access......stream01.keyone.co.uk
Your version of Windows Media Player......9.00.00.3250
Your current Operating System (OS).....XP SP2
Your current Network Settings in Windows Media Player....all ticked, HTTP
(browser(, other 2 are none
Do you have a firewall running? yes, windows one
Can you play the link in mplayer2.exe?....YES, weirdly, after it installed a
codec

I Always get the error code 0xC00D11B3, which is a network error

I have been trying to fix this constantly for a couple of days, originally
failed on WMP11 (after being fine) with a diff error message (C00D1197),
reinstalled to 9, still nothing. reinstalled XP, still didnt work.
What am I missing here?????
howcome it works on mplayer2??

ANY HELP APRRECIATED, as I pay about 120 GBP for a season ticket to watch
soccer from back home.

I just rang Microsoft too, and they said they will charge me $75 for over the phone consultation...which is a bit extreme!

EDIT - I have tried this with WMP 9,10,11 and still cant get it
Thanks

Callum

But I'd download and use VLC.
And never ring MS, they don't care.

Thanks . . . . .

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade to Windows Media Services 9 Series . Windows Media Services 9 Series is available as part of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 . To select the correct version for your business needs, see the product documentation .

Im on WMP 9??

If you cannot upgrade, you must enable the HTTP protocol for Windows Media Services 4 . 1 . To do this, follow these steps:1 . Open the Windows Media administration console . To do this, click Start, click Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click Windows Media .
2 . In the navigation pane, click Server Properties under Configure Server .
3 . In the topic pane, click the HTTP Streaming and Distribution tab .
4 . Click one of the following, depending on the type of distribution that you want to use:• Windows Media Unicast
• Windows Media Station

5 . Click Apply, and then close Windows Media Administrator .
6 . Restart the server .

I tried to do this last night but couldnt find with the instructions above??

XPSP2

If I downloaded VLC player, I would still have to copy n paste the URL into it, just like im doing for mplayer2 . exe, right??

Thanks
