470018 2006-07-11 08:31:00 Would you buy one?

I can't tell as nowhere I can find what motherboard is in the thing. I emailed them but they replied saying they don't answer "presales" questions and directed me back to the uninformative website.

That is very poor form. I think that dell have their own brand of motherboards. not sure if they are just rebrands.

I would be tempted to buy a Dell because they are so much cheaper than I could build a similar spec computer myself, but as you said, the support team isn't very helpfull.

470021 2006-07-11 09:43:00 Thats a nice looking computer.
Since Dell has brought out Alienware, it could be a rebadged alienware computer? Just a thought

On the topic of alienware, what on earth posessed a designer PC company to choose warehouse stationary as their retail distributer?

saw the flyer, I would think they are parallel imports? I also prosume the Dells they sell at the warehouse are parallel imports to

470024 2006-07-11 21:54:00 A designer PC company didn't. Dell did. Warehouse already sold Dell, so Alienware is just Dells latest aquisition.

I disagree Greven, do the sums on individual components comparable to the XPS700 - guessing at the MB of course, you can do it for cheaper or the same.

This is one reason I don't like them, Alienware or not. They don't tell you whats in it. So is it good quality? I doubt it.
And the warranty still sucks.
Their support still sucks.

470025 2006-07-11 22:15:00 The Dell badge is a symbol of quality and reliability. When we develop a new product we put it through the rigors of true-to-life use and then some, helping ensure it meets our strict quality guidelines.Even after reading that, NO. Rob99 (151)
