704761 2008-09-12 13:51:00 That's ridiculous! Acronis's reduced the price to just $10 bucks.. Looks like it's time to go and get True Image now - bet it won't last long. Anyone tried to buy it or is it a duck?

704762 2008-09-12 19:43:00 It could be legit but at first I thought it was a scam because the link you gave has "acronis.net" and I see that the Acronis site is "acronis.com", see here:
www.acronis.com

However, if you click on Buy Now (True Image for $49.99, from the main Acronis site found at the top of a Google search), the next page shows a price of $9.99 and the URL (quite long) looks to be the same as from the pizza special promotion page that you gave. Comparing two the 'Secure Checkout" pages (one via the pizza page and the other from the main Acronis site, the two URLs are exactly the same.

Anyone else know if this is a legit offer?

704764 2008-09-12 20:45:00 The 1st screen is approx US$52 but when you convert to NZ$ it changes to $16.19 PaulD (232)
704765 2008-09-12 23:15:00 Damn! I really need it too.
So, anyone willing to buy it for me?

I don't think prezzy cards work.

Try paying as $AU. It might be cheaper.

704766 2008-09-12 23:52:00 Acronis 12 must be coming out very soon! rumpty (2863)
704767 2008-09-14 01:07:00 I've just ordered this & paid by credit card.

I chose the basic version - download without CD - for $NZ 16-00 & have a confirmation email, but am too busy to continue right now.

Does anyone have any experience/advice re this el cheapo offer before I actually download & install?

Edit - or even about the programme itself..?
I was dead ignorant of it before this arose

704768 2008-09-14 06:39:00 I have paid version of TI 11 cost me $107 earlier this year but works really well I made a boot cd for it as well so I can run it off a cd or have it installed, I found for disc cloning it was better to run off the boot cd and not through windows though. gary67 (56)
704769 2008-09-14 07:12:00 I just registered and downloaded Acronis finally.
Not too big at 139 megs. But it's from a slow server

Will see how the bootable disk works out.

I would agree with that, and it has got me out of a couple of pickles in the last few months.:clap
