472409 2006-07-23 01:53:00 What it means is if thats your "thing" then go hard, knock yourself out, But others discussing the merits of any of it shouldn't automaticly be branded racist.

Minds so small that it knocks me over, Easily as bad as the rot and self serving bull**** Turia twists up and spits out weekly via the evil Pakeha media (that would be the Wanganui Chron.
Sorry Met I was just joking.
We live in a world, where if one questions the merits of anything said on the above suject, then that is considered racist, and I can tell you, none of the twain shall meet.
What I mean by that,is,you will never change there minds.

Personally I don't really care either way. I think Maori TV is a good thing for those interested in watching it. I also do tend to agree that SOME Maori are into anything just for the money. But the same could be said for europeans as well (though the media does seem to emphasize when a Maori has done it). At the end of the day, where Maoridom is concerned, I stand only for my g/f and kid. The rest can look after themselves

472412 2006-07-23 02:25:00 So will you be participating in a thread about how much you hate shortland street and that your tax dollars are being wasted on something you don't like or never watch?

Hows this chaps, I care for Maori culture about as much as I care for Shortland St, Have a field day on it.
But you ARE right to be able to voice your views, don't let the PC police slience you.

I will participate where ever I choose, What relivence does the answer to the question have?

Anyhow, I haven't said that Maori TV is a bad idea, Merely that the movies look to be better and that some went into for a cash grab (and as Tazz pointed out this isn't a new issue, nor confined to any subset of society)

472414 2006-07-23 07:14:00 My comments were not about the Thread topic of Maori TV and whether it is worthwhile or not, but about the generalised comments regarding Maoris themselves. What got edited out of your post Metla was prime example of this. That had nothing to do with Maori TV stations. Jen (38)
472415 2006-07-23 07:23:00 Excellent, that was designed to ruffle a few feathers.

Perhaps its only those of the Jaffa variety?

472416 2006-07-23 08:19:00 Not only those of the Jaffa variety...

You are fortunate it was edited out.
Your statement did you no credit.

472417 2006-07-23 08:22:00 Why don't we ask Helen to finance a Press f1 chat TV chanel. Then we could all appear on TV and give our opinions verbally.

Wonder how many would be prepared to front up.
Would be a lot more interesting than Maori TV and would probably draw more listeners.

Fortunate?

What would have to have happened for Metla to be unfortunate?
