472399 2006-07-22 13:09:00 I happen to be of English origin but I don't see you jumping to my defence when people make slanderous comments about my nationality. And?
I thought for a minute you had something pertinent to this thread, but obviously I was mistaken.
Besides, what could we possibly say bad about the English

472401 2006-07-22 15:17:00 Thanks, Jen, for your sensible comment.
I agree with it completely.

I've been appalled at some of the opinions in this thread from people who obviously have no idea of the background/reason for the existence of Maori TV.

Sheer ignorance borders easily on racism, and this forum has many nationalities, as you point out.
So which one will be next?

Pople on benefits seem to be in the firing line? Or maybe Aucklanders will be stay as target?

Give it a rest indeed.

Happy to see as Jen says that this gets laid to rest. Roll on Monday and Billy T's joke thread.

And what?
You're clearly mistaken.
People are perfectly entitled to express an opinion on a TV station that they are paying for via their taxes. Doesn't matter whether it's a Maori, Asian, English, Martian, Sports, Knitting, or a Tiddlywink station. If it was privately funded, perhaps there wouldn't be interest or opinion expressed whatsoever.

I don't think anyone in this forum has racist views and I seriously doubt that anyone appreciates being called a racist as a result of some over-sensitive misinterpretation. That is an insinuation of the worst kind.

So much for the TV discussion.

472405 2006-07-23 00:15:00 Indeed, Hijacked by the socially manipulated once again . Weak very weak .

Hows this chaps, I care for Maori culture about as much as I care for Shortland St, Have a field day on it .

I can be of this opinon without coming within 30 trillion miles of declaring someone as unworthy or lesser then based on their skin colour .

But thats probally well beyond the comprehenion of those yelling racisim .

You have my pity, thats all you deserve .

472408 2006-07-23 01:20:00 What it means is if thats your "thing" then go hard, knock yourself out, But others discussing the merits of any of it shouldn't automaticly be branded racist.

Minds so small that it knocks me over, Easily as bad as the rot and self serving bull**** Turia twists up and spits out weekly via the evil Pakeha media (that would be the Wanganui Chron.
