| 704930 | 2008-11-02 04:03:00 | AHHA! I'm not just imagining it. Yes yes yes. I'm having similar issues with xnet in the last couple of weeks. EVERYTHING is slower. www.speedtest.net initially when testing 4500d/130u cuz i'm limited and now i'm pushing it for 3000d. the xnet speedtest only gives me like 1500d. I asked what's up and the bloke didn't know squat! LOVED xnet when i first got it. now it's annoying. picked up yesterday for torrents 50k + down spread but otherwise 30k spread!!! was really happy with 100+ at first signup :) Conspiracy lovers unite. Conspiracy haters contact me or just straight to the source....xnet. oh and i'm on river or something. ul/down/128up |

| 704932 | 2008-11-02 11:40:00 | nerd, with that many seeds, its unlikely that its an issue with the other peers. Its most likely either: 1) Router - Ditch the D-Link router.. Get yourself a half-decent Linksys one perhaps? 2) Port-Forwarding - Pick some non-standard ports to run your stuff on 3) Encryption settings - Try turning them on / off / whatever... What speeds do you get from testmyspeed.co.nz? Im getting 4100kbps down & 140kbps up (Not bad for a plan thats s'posed to limit me to 128kbps upload!) Torrents come down semi-slow to be honest at times, but a download with a MegaUpload premium account (Got one for a month to test with and see if it was just torrents) and they rocket down at around 600KB/s! Same deal with a Usenet account, they frequently reach over 500KB/s! BTW - I know its not the port-forwarding settings on my SMC router, they worked just fine when I was with Ihug / Vodafone a few months ago and got super-nice speeds there (Frequently 200KB/s+), not to mention Ive had a mate in Aus grab the same torrent I was testing with now Im with Xnet, 2 mins after I used it, and he pulled it down at over 900KB/s! |
