472166 2006-07-20 09:25:00 Yup, did you see him tonight again on the news, I rest my case. If this guy gets to be PM, we are in real trouble, and Muldoon always said he would be one day. Horrors. A bad flashback from the past. zqwerty (97)

At last,we agree on something, the man is a lunatic.

472168 2006-07-20 13:56:00 But surely he is a man after your own heart. The fulfillment of all your right wing dreams.

Check out this thread for how the right wing dream has gone wrong, as if we didn't warn you:

472169 2006-07-20 21:19:00 You have to be able to sort out the differences between right wing politics and sectarian politics.
Keep it up,you will get it!

472170 2006-07-20 22:44:00 I have always liked the guy. Not because he is a good politician, but because every now and then he throws a spanner in the works and upsets the politically correct. It keeps everyone else on their toes. The man has BALLS (something lacking in the government).
I doubt he will ever make Prime Minister, but I'm damn sure he would make a better one than that gutless wonder called Brash. Show me anything he has done other than trying to kiss your a$$

As for the media ... Boohooo. So he made it harder to do your job. Cry me a river.
The media (and I laughed at the previous poster who aptly named them hyenas) are nothing more than a school of paid sharks, one hint of blood and they all go into a feeding frenzy. We see it with any murders, etc that are going on, some of us have noticed how biased they are in certain respects (if the story involves a white dude and money, it wont make the news, throw a Maori or Polynesian in there and its news for weeks) etc etc. Good on ya Winnie for standing up and telling them where to get off.

472171 2006-07-20 22:48:00 Winston will never be PM, he's just slowly being pushed out of politics. I predict the next election will be his last.

First maori PM?

Pita Sharples, whenever that guy talks he talks sence. He has the head and the heart in the right place.

Closeup " Did the babies look peaceful in death"

reminds me of a something I was told few days ago in regards to the Lois Dear murder enquiry. I heard this 2nd hand so not sure if this is true but apparantly. Paul Holmes was interviewing a police spokesperson and one of his questions was: Were the injuries she suffered serious?
There was a long pause as the police tried to decipher what the hell he was asking. My response would have been yeah Paul the injuries were serious....SHE DIED!!!!

472173 2006-07-20 23:04:00 That news item on closeup was the worst heart string emotive shove-a-mike-in-the-weaping-family-face-and -try-to-make-them-cry type Holmes reporting that I have ever seen. Closeup has totally lost the plot of what it is meant to be and is now just a holmes clone.

Its the total degredation of current affairs to emotional sensationalism without any attempt at presenting news.

Susan used to be quite good when it was the Holmes show, but now the programme has turned to crap.
Sainsbury on the other hand should have stayed as a political reporter at the Beehive. Has no balls or sense of humour

472175 2006-07-21 00:06:00 Actually I was thinking about the primary school teacher who was murdered (a sad situation) but I suspect there are many other examples of emotional exploitation being mistaken for journalism by closeup, such as the one you saw, which I missed. netchicken (4843)
