Mirrors & torrents: www.mepis.org Downloading now so, haven't tried it yet, apparently it's got some fundemetal changes like; it's now based on the Ubuntu branch of Deb (Dapper I think). It should work pretty much out of the box with any modem (incl winmodems), usb device, graphics card, pretty much whatever you want to throw at it. So don't be shy, don't be a fool, grab yer copy and be cool, handsome/pretty, witty, intelligent, progressive, sexy, inovative, incisive, hip, gorgeous, bold, but not a tool. |

| 472586 | 2006-07-21 12:37:00 | Thanks for the heads up Murray. :) You can read more about that release here (www.mepis.org). I used SimplyMEPIS for about 10 weeks earlier this year after losing my Fedora installation along with the hard drive. It was a very nice distro to use and you really didn't have to do much yourself - basically Plug and Play. I thought long and hard whether to stay with Mepis or go back to Fedora - Fedora won :p . Mepis was too easy to use and I felt I was becoming a lazy Linux user as I didn't have anything to provide a challenge that I could learn from ... |
