472146 2006-07-19 20:14:00 From what I saw on the news Winston did nothing wrong but tell the Media to pi55 off because they were meddling. Now the media are trying to lambast Winston for doing his job - in my opinon appropriately. He is responsible for discussions about relations between US and NZ, not the media. sam m (517)
472147 2006-07-19 20:54:00 Power tripping, he is going to be a dangerous man in the future if he gets into any real power.

I forgot to add arrogant, supercilious, magisterial, condescending attitude combined with generally putting on airs and graces way above his station, hanging around with the "big boys" has gone to his head.

472148 2006-07-19 21:10:00 Bashing winston is a media game, they don't like it that he tells them to piss off. So they portray him in the worst possible light whenever he does anything.

Now I don't support Peters, nor would I like him to have the job he does, but its obvious how the media attack him like hyenas whenever he comes to their attention.

472149 2006-07-19 21:42:00 Did NONE of you see the interview with the US senator?.....WP interrupted him and told him no deals would be done until the US had blah blah blah and that he had ask for answers blah blah blah. He was totally OTT, rude and too big for himself.
It is we who are asking for the free trade agreement not the US.

WP has NO political skills whatsoever, HC cant be serious about ries with the US esle why would see send him there.

Politics is about finess, charm and debate, WP didnt show any yesterday.

472150 2006-07-19 21:52:00 If finesse, charm, and the ability to have a calm debate are prerequisites then WP is in the WRONG job, coz he is lacking in all of them .

I would like to know what our government ( i use the term loosely) thought they were up to in that appointment . . . . was it just so labour could have their majority? coz they had easier ways to achieve that then putting a little despot like winnie in the position he's in . . . . so just what was helens motive? especially considering that a lot of authorities worldwide question the legality of that appointment, it is unheard of to have a cabinet minister outside party jurisdiction is it not?

Or am I all befuddled, that's the way I seem to remember it at the time . Just to hijack slightly - also of interest is the Taito Phillip Field saga . . . what are everyones impressions on the latest developments

Believe everything what the media tell you at your peril. They are nothing but bloodsucking liars. The media wouldn't tell you the WHOLE truth if it went down on them.

BTW - I actually hate WP. He is arrogant but I beleive mainstream media are worse.

472154 2006-07-19 22:42:00 Hmmmm..

472155 2006-07-19 22:59:00  you bring to mind the mental image I get whenever I see a large crush of reporters all yelling questions at a victim (no offense Laura!) it always reminds me of standing on a beach with a bigmac surrounded by sea gulls all screaming at me and each other . . . straitjacket (9698)
