| 705910 | 2008-09-17 05:01:00 | Hi When I plug my monitor (native res 1920x1200) into my DVI port, the max supported res is 1600x1200. While 1920x1200 appears on the windows resolution slider, when I set it to that, the screen goes blank and says no signal. When plugged into the VGA however, 1920x1200 works, but there are tiny screen artefacts (I guess from having to convert a huge amount of digital data to analog, then back to digital again). The max resolution of the card is apparently 2048x1536. My card is a Geforce4 Ti 4200. Any ideas why the DVI maximum resolution is less than the VGA? |

| 705912 | 2008-09-17 19:17:00 | How big is the Monitor? Unless it is bigger than my 22" wide screen you might need Binoculars to see the ICONS on the Desktop at 2048x1536. Make sure you have the latest drivers for it but NOT from Microsoft Update. |

| 705914 | 2008-09-17 21:50:00 | The monitor is 24", native resolution is 1920x1200 @60hz, which is what I'm attempting to set it to. I've googled a bit, and found that apparently the maximum resolution from single link DVI is 1600x1200. To go higher, you need to lower the the blanking interval. I've tried this through my video card drivers, but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure if the video card is doing it properly though. Is anyone using a single link dvi connection for a resolution larger than 1600x1200? |

So I guess no one here uses DVI for resolutions larger than 1920x1200? |

| 705918 | 2008-09-20 06:31:00 | As a reference for anyone else who has this problem: The reason my card could go up to 1600x1200 was because it already had reduced blanking enabled (about 130mhz) With standard timing, the maximum dvi output is 1280x1024. |
