| 474084 | 2006-07-27 11:44:00 | Does any one else have a problem with spam at the moment? I have been getting up to ten meesages from 2 different spam producers daily. I am with Paradise and are getting them through all the email addresses we have. Anyone got any ideas about stopping the flood? Hi My guess its possibly not from all the same place although could be same person spamming through different servers. Never ever reply or click on any of their links as this will indicate your address is active but guess you already new that. I have account with Clear.Net and no problem there. But have a email account with a different provider and posted a item on a website to be identified for date etc. On this site the email address wasnt shown and a link had to be clicked to check for email address and now get spam and this account was spam free for over two years beforehand. Now I have these mental idiots trying to claim i have won heaps of money or update your ebay account or paypal account etc. Just send those fraudster with full headers to abuse @ ebay or paypal.com Hopefully they will catch up with them. |

| 474090 | 2006-07-28 10:13:00 | Simple answer The spammers are now sending the spam as a JPEG or Bitmap file. They are also using texture shading Antivirus/ spam filters haven't caught up with this new development and therefore aren't able to filter the spam based on the keywords cos all you are seeing is a picture of the spam. :groan: |

| 474092 | 2006-07-29 02:29:00 | We get at least ten every day through xtra, sometimes slightly more. Just noticed however that a significant proportion is not even addressed to us. Just to illustrate [and using different names to protect the innocent (ie us)]. brad_angelina is our user name  and we get mail additionally for brad.angelina brad brad_angel brad_kathleen :illogical brad.kathleen :illogical there was one even more bizzare which I can't quite remember how it went. I have sent an email to comments@xtra.co.nz and additionally am now sending each off individually to the same address. Have a look at who your spam is addressed to - you might get some surprises !! :groan: Misty |
