| 473630 | 2006-07-30 10:27:00 | Buy a copy of Michael Swans's "Common English Usage" as I have suggested umpteen times before or at least check it out and if you don't like it tell us why not. For struth's sake JK it's an excellent source of reference for English Language (2nd language) users. HTH..m Quite embarrassingly, I have been ignoring your advice for quite some time now. I guess it is time for me to take up the responsibility. "Common English Usage", did you say? I have tried googling for it, but the best that I can find are "Current English Usage" and "Practical English Usage". Righto, I will pay a visit to Whitcoulls tomorrow afternoon! Cheers :) |

I am flattered, Winston, but I always bear in mind Jen's signature. If you understand what you're doing, you're not learning anything Besides this, English is the subject that I find it most difficult to gain Merit (not to mention Excellence) in NCEA compared to sciences and maths. I have still got miles to go! Cheers :) |

It'll serve you well if you can get a copy. You could try going into an Eng, Lang. school and seeing if they have any leads on how to get a copy otherwise yes Amazon. | mark c (247) | ||
