Geez Greg - did you have to give away the winner before the replay on "Classic Matches" in 2009. Let's face it - we're in the strange position this year that most people from Sydney would be in a better position to tell you how the Melbourne Storm are going than their national rugby team. And quite rightly too - the Storm could be the most in-form rugby team in the world right now. |

| 474520 | 2006-07-30 09:58:00 | Heh, Whats said above is true, Aussies aren't interested in anything to do we NZ, we rate with them about as much as Aussie issues rate with the US. Quite often after a game there would be a tiny article buried somewhere deep in the local rag if you were lucky, or nothing at all. In Aussie (from what I am told) rugby is only played in Private Schools, so while they do manage to fill stadiums for major games it is very much a niche sport. The multiple League and Aussie Football stadiums are packed to the rafters for every game, every week, right around the country(*Edit, unless the Warriors are playing, thats largely a non-event) 5 years in aussie, lived in 2 cities, Had over a dozen jobs and I never chanced upon anyone who followed rugby apart from other Kiwi's. |
