2006-07-30 21:18:00 | I think there would be more debate on which motherboard brand is the worst | Greven (91) | |
2006-07-30 23:30:00 | lol this thread is kinda like voting which car is better Holden or Ford . Kinda pointless . My thought exactly . . . . I mean . . . . who would even CONSIDER a Ford as being in a list of the top 1,000 or 10,000 cars, right after Lada, Fiat and Hillman . :yuck: . . . . . <don't even know what a Holden is! >

2006-07-31 10:50:00 | I would be inclined to say ECS is one of the worst, but one of the guys I work with have an ECS board & he loves it - all the features, low price & hasn't gone belly up on him yet. | Greven (91) | |
2006-07-31 19:29:00 | I have had 2 brands of board that I have not been impressed with...one was ecs, that went pop within 2 wks of buying it...never did find out what was wrong with it ...the other was albatron, first time it died it dropped a memory slot so I got it rma'd and it was good for about 6 months, then it died again and this time it had something to do with the power switching circuitry ie I couoldnt switch the f'in thing on at all, so I rma'd it again and got an asus as a replacement

2006-08-01 11:07:00 | it all depends on price . ECS are good cheap boards (biggest motherboard manafacture last time i checked, even big brands get there budget boards made by them) . pcchips/jetway . . . . . . . . . ewwwww . tho i think they are now made by ECS . asus are regualry the fastest boards but not always the most stable . there is a huge range of middle roads manfactures which can make some exceelent boards and also some dogs . then finally the no-name or minor manafactures who are often more copiers than manafactures (ie build last years models cheaper) . generally you want to stay away from them, however some of the big name brands have started off being copier manafactures .
