473357 2006-07-25 09:51:00 NOD32 doesn't have a free version. You get 30 days trial and then you pay or you're a pirate.
You make a valid point

473358 2006-07-25 10:03:00 Yes I was was surprised about the 'free' version of NOD32. "Best in the East and West"

AVG does fine for me,:thumbs:

473359 2006-07-25 10:59:00 The latest version of Norton catches more viruses than nod32, but it seems to assume that the only thing you use your computer for is running the virus scanner. Greven (91)
473360 2006-07-25 11:03:00 hahahahahah v good observation Greven mark c (247)
473361 2006-07-25 12:45:00 PC Cillin for me because they gave it to me for free - otherwise Nod32 wouild be my first choice. Twelvevolts (5457)
473362 2006-07-25 16:22:00 So is

* common sense
* mac os
* linuxYeah well, you know that, I know that (esp the Linux part). But not everyone uses it. Or is able to use it.

Incidentally, I forgot about the fact NOD32 doesn't have a free version. Me bad... need sleep.

473363 2006-07-25 16:44:00 The last poll on this subject ( a whole 5 weeks ago) also missed out avast!

Although it got about a dozen mentions in that thread, I see I wasn't one of the complainers then.

So I'm doing it now - to stick up for a program which deserves better than to be lumped in with OTHER - especially as I believe it's on more comps than some of the names which did make the list.

So would the next poll-writer please take note...

473365 2006-07-26 01:31:00 Only two people brave enough to vote for Nortons so far. :p

Another vote for Avast - shame on you for not including it in the list. :rolleyes:
