| 705341 | 2008-09-15 06:51:00 | I just want to be 100% sure; I'm adding a second HDD to my computer but I'm not sure whether the SATA ports on my motherboard are for 1 . 5Gbit/s or 3Gbit/s . I'm not certain whether my current HDD is SATA or SATA 2 (although the manufacturers' website says its interface is 3 Gb/s - . wdc . com/en/products/products . asp?DriveID=83" target="_blank">www . wdc . com) but the one I intend to buy is definitely SATA 2 . Even if the ports on the motherboard aren't SATA2, will it be fine to use this second hard drive? Are they backwards compatible? Thanks a lot! |
