| 705332 | 2008-09-15 06:27:00 | Fresh install of windows XP home Sp3 and Interrupts and DPCs (shown in process explorer) using about 22% and 3% respectively all the time. This does not happen in safe mode All drivers are latest (since windows was just installed) and BIOS is latest. Having never seen this problem before I'm not exactly sure where to start. Can anyone shed some light? |

| 705333 | 2008-09-15 06:59:00 | It probably doesnt do it in safe mode, since hardly anything is loaded. This is what it means (en.wikipedia.org) And the topic is too long |

So far I have tried removing CD drive and both network cards, swapping video card, and IDE cables. Anyone know if it's possible to work out what interrupt is causing this usage? |

| 705336 | 2008-09-15 13:06:00 | Tried a Ubuntu live CD and according to top, hardware interrupts were at 0.0% almost all of the time. (went to 1.7% twice in all the time I was looking at it) So it seems it may be a windows-only problem.. |

Cheers  I'm starting to think it might be a SP3 problem... I have had windows installed on this PC before - but not with SP3 and I never noticed any problem before... |
