2008-09-15 00:48:00 | Since reformating my Vista Home Premium PC and re-installing Mailwasher 6 the error messages "Could not save blacklist file, and could not save filters, and illegal pointer operation" appear during shutdown, program closing etc. Running Mailwasher in Administration mode [under compatibility] fixes the problem but this has to be done every time windows loads, and also causes the startup programs pop up box to frequently appear on screen. How are these issues addressed using either Mailwasher 5 or 6 in both XP and Vista as I've tried both versions on 2 separate machines and the same error messages occur. Mailwasher 5 runs OK on Windows ME. I have tried removing the Mailwasher entries from the HKEY\software\firetrust entries in the registry and performed a clean re-install to no avail. There used to be a fix for all this but I lost the info a year ago. AN ACCURATE CONSTRUCTIVE ANSWER GREATLY APPRECIATED. Allan Jenkins, New Plymouth.

Access is denied (EFCreateError). ' ? Right click on your MailWasher Pro shortcut > with the left mouse button select Properties > select the Compatibility tab at the top > ensure the option "Run as administrator" is checked > click OK. Someone must have the answer, there used to be a solution but I lost it. Its a real bummer because Mailwasher is a good program when working. Unfortunately there are compatibility issues despite Firetrust saying v6 is Vista compatible ! | TheRascal (8990) | ||

2008-09-15 05:00:00 | Thanks for your advice, it created a little less work for me but the 'Invalid Pointer Operation' pop-up still there and UAC disable pop-up frequently occurs. Can't seem to fix one thing without creating another pesky reminder ! I do appreciate your help though Gonzales. Thanks.

2008-09-15 05:34:00 | Some sites say uninstall v6 remove its folders / registry entries. Then use ccleaner remove the invalid entries. And reinstall V5 V6 is probably not compatible with Vista

2008-09-15 12:20:00 | Yes, I've read it all, but in my case I was using a fresh new drive with a fresh installation of Mailwasher v6 so re-cleaning the registry didn't wash ! Running mailwasher with UAC disabled and shutting down Mailwasher before existing Windows I found the only work-around. Thanks for your help, it was actually helpful ! | TheRascal (8990) | |
