474446 2006-07-28 19:31:00 While I am actively editing a post, is the original (old) post still available to others who might be viewing?

....or do I hold it away from the site as I am modifying it and it won't be visable until I click "SUBMIT"?

474447 2006-07-28 20:40:00 I have noticed that following an edit I have to refresh my screen to see the edit in my browser if that is any help kjaada (253)
474448 2006-07-28 21:20:00 I've always asssumed that the original is still viewable by others while I'm editing - hence the need to do it asp..
It'll be interesting to get the definitive answer from a Mod.

Just testing

this is the edit part and while I am typing this I had PF1 open with another browser (not logged in) and it is still viewable. Good question.

Further more I just realised that I quoted the wrong poster - should have been surfers post I was responding to. :)

474450 2006-07-28 23:21:00 Yeah, your original post remains fully viewable while you are re-editing it. Furthermore, depending upon how slow you are and the timing, people who have subscribed to that thread with email notifications can get an email with the pre-edit content. Jen (38)
474451 2006-07-29 01:29:00 So the best policy is to think before pressing the "Submit" button.

There are good arguments for that practice, anyway. :D

But that requires thought process. How much braincell energy do you think we all have!? :nerd:
