475606 2006-08-02 21:37:00 When were they ever?

The price of diamonds are artificially inflated. They are a lot more common than the big few corporations who own them all would like you to believe.
And what use are they to the average lady?

Now, some yummy hardware......although I don't especially want a plasma TV.....just some new PC hardware every year.

475607 2006-08-02 22:20:00 Well, you could be the first on the block with a new hi-tech man-made diamond simulant (I think they call them cubic zirconias!)... and spend the rest of the money you save on a plasma TV, best of both worlds :) Shortcircuit (1666)

No. Spend it ALL on hardware. Don't want any artificial diamonds or man-made ones either.
In fact don't want a plasma TV either.

You're a hard woman to please PCtek :D (unless you're actually a man...which would explain the apathy toward sparkly things!)

I've seen a few diamonds that you could trade in on a nice car... or even a house. I know what I'd rather have :)

475611 2006-08-03 02:21:00 The jewellery trade is likely to sell cubic zironia at the grossly inflated diamond prices anyway. It's all fraud.

I've got some very nice diamonds. Drills, saws, engraving tools, glass cutters ... industrial diamonds aren't too expensive, because they aren't part of the fashion world.

LMAO... maybe better with a screwdriver than a kitchen whizz?

Not at all. My Kitchen whizz gets lots of use.
Kitchen toys are good, you get to eat the yummy end results.

Can't see the point in wasting money on sparkley trinkets, I do have one or two pairs of earrings and a couple of rings but thats about it. I mean, what do you DO with them?

More into the practical pressies.....

I'll remember that next time when asked why I chose a skill saw instead of diamond earrings . I can just see it now . . . I'd probably (no definitely!) get the skill saw shoved where the sun don't shine
