706197 2008-09-18 20:34:00 Hi all, have a very old pc with Nortons A/V, I didnt even know it was installed until after Avast bleated about it. I thought only AVG 6 was installed (yes customer had 2 a/v running!)....It is not listed in Add\Remove programs, there is not program group shortcuts and I am unfamiliar with the app exe's, so cant id at uninstalled exe...

The Norton Removal Tool doesnt list 2002 as one of the versions it removes and I cant find a link to it anyway....

Thanks for your help

706202 2008-09-18 21:11:00 LOL...damn, Norton 2002 has to be removed using the add\remove programs before using the Norton Removal Toll....!!!. ****, whats the point!! SolMiester (139)
706203 2008-09-18 21:28:00 Yeah, the new nortons removal tool doesn't work with pre-2003 products. The old tool that does, won't let you run it because it's out of date.

After actually thinking about that though, if you were to disconnect the PC in question from the net, it wouldn't be able to phone home and be told its out of date. That's if you can track an older version down. FileHippo ftw?

706204 2008-09-18 21:32:00 What old version......I'm struggling here, I have had to go into registry to delete start up keys, so I can start deleting the damn program folder and run the tool...! SolMiester (139)

Did you try that link? Even though it says 2003 I'm 99% sure it works with 2002 aswell.
