476764 2006-08-07 06:08:00 hmmm wonder if it would be possible to get a super long ethernet cable to stretch to Auckland so that i could have cable. *dreams on...* :D thomas09 (10276)
476765 2006-08-07 06:21:00 You've already got one, Thomas. You are connected to a network backbone
through your ISP. That's the closest you're likely to ever get.

476766 2006-08-07 06:27:00 You would have to get permission to string the cable along the power lines, if they let you do it then there will be no excuse for not having fibre cable as well  Shortcircuit (1666)
476767 2006-08-07 06:35:00 Don’t you mean Christchurch or Wellington or kapiti :D as Auckland does not have telstraclear cable ;)

Part from we have wiredcountry (only if your lucky enough to live in a place where there cable/fibre coverage is)

They were going to but Auckland did not want the "ugly" cables

Only because they wanted to put the cables in the air, but if telstraclear said only for areas that have overhead power lines then I think it may have been a different story.

my :2cents:
