477917 2006-08-12 00:46:00 This is what I want in NZ!

I'm staying with some friends in Hamburg at the moment.
(I was supposed to be in Prague now but the flight was cancelled because of what's going on in London, but that's another story.)

They just got a new providor for their phone & DSL internet.
It costs them 51 euros a month which is about $100 NZ dollars give or take a dollar.
Here's the good part, the download speed is 16Mb/s and upload is 8Mb/s (I think that is the correct upload speed) and no data cap!!!!

I gave it a quick test with uTorrent. I downloaded the 1987 Rugby World Cup Final, which is 900MB, and it took.......about 16 mins!!!
Avg download speed in uTorrent was 1MB/s!

PS Is it just my PC or has the PCWorld red banner stopped working??

477918 2006-08-12 00:54:00 With regards to your last question, somehow or another, the banner no longer appears on my Firefox as well.

Enjoy your holiday!

Cheers :)

477923 2006-08-13 11:14:00 Like in Japan...
Click -> 20mb file -> Done :D -> 10 seconds

This would have been the slow as Deal too, the PC was pretty crap.

477924 2006-08-13 12:40:00 Surely am making the most of it!
Have already downloaded the first 2 Bledisloe Cup games that I missed because of being overseas. Both were about 1.2GB!

Busy downloading the McLeods Daughters episodes that my wife is missing while we are overseas too. About 10 in total, all about 350MB or more. It really is a waste of bandwidth but the wife wants to watch them!
