477296 2006-08-09 04:27:00 if u've taken ur digital camera or mobile phone to cash converters before, what kind of phone or camera was it and how much did u originally buy it for, and then how much did Cashconverters give u for it when u sold it to them? lance4k (4644)
477297 2006-08-09 04:32:00 I believe they buy in for about 1/3 of new price, and try to sell for 2/3 of new price.

Why not sell on Trademe? There are idiots who might pay over new price ;).

477298 2006-08-09 05:30:00 Seriously try Tradme if you haven't done so before. My friend got above-market value for his phone (retailing in stores for $399... sold for about $450 on TM second hand). I have sold computer stuff 2nd hand (1 year old) at about 75-85% purchase value. Seriously worth a shot. somebody (208)
477299 2006-08-10 01:54:00 Seriously try Tradme if you haven't done so before. I was being serious. :D Graham L (2)
477300 2006-08-10 03:51:00 Cash Converters are a rip offs, unless you urgently need cash, I suggest try Trademe first.

I used to have a Rotel power amp, I took it there and they said they will give me $200 for it  ... I placed it on Trademe and it sold for $950.

477301 2006-08-10 04:58:00 I took a Playstation there once. This was before they were totally obsolete. They gave me I think about $30. It came with memory card, 2 controllers and 3 games.

They also aren't that great to buy from either. Considering its a second hand shop.

477302 2006-08-10 06:33:00 I sell everything in trademe now .Cashconverter hardly gives you any money.I remember a while back I wanted to sell my discman. It was quite new 4 months old from Sony.Cashconverter would only give me $100 when i bought it for $400.I sold it at trademe for $260.

I then sold a pair of earphone a Shure E3g retails at $200NZ in hong kong and because I didnt like the sound quality i sold it on earphone at $220NZ.lol
Only had it for 2 months but the fact that I sold it 2nd hand at the same price I payed for it was just so brilliant.

I don't go to cash converter anymore. In around December I think I'll be selling my Nokia N70 for a Nokia N73.I think cash converter will only give me around $300 while I should be able to get at least $400-$500 at trademe.
