| 476872 | 2006-08-07 11:20:00 | I tried to "repair" my old Sony radio (circa 1980) last night because the tape deck that does the cassette recording just went belly up. Bad Idea  Bloody Murphy :annoyed: Any who my question is, is it worth while getting it repaired or should I go find a new one? I want this radio because it has a Line In/Auxilary audio jack so I can record from my PC to tape and then using another portable cassette player warp the sound by pressing on the tape itself. But since the stereos over at the Warehouse all feature inbuilt mic's and no line in/aux and I really need it for voice acting... does anyone have a tape recorder that records with a line in jack??? |

| 476876 | 2006-08-08 02:06:00 | [quote=bob_joe_doe]... warp the sound ...[quote] You obviously don't want "high fidelity" then. I'll leave the obvious question for someone else. :D You can get reasonable results with a fixed attenuator (a couple of resistors, say, 10k and 330 ohms for ~30:1, or even a 10k pot used as a preset) so the input volume control has a decent range. Cassete decks built in to radios tend to be not commodity items; they are specially made for the particular model. |
