477825 2006-08-12 03:52:00 Did you try the obvious, entering his full name in quotes into NZ Google?

Just as an aside, I helped Misty find a long-lost branch of his family a while ago . Actually it was through the genius of a local geneologist . :D Anyway, struck a brick wall, so I Googled and lo and behold found a relative who'd only days earlier put himself into Old Friends . Happy story and I've preached "Google is your friend" ever after .

Ah ok...for some reason I thought your local one only has your local list, my mission next day off then I reakon :)

I've been a bit dissapointed with the lack of responses from Oldfriends :( I get the impression people set it up then never check it, or change there e-mail & don't update there profile etc. Tried 3 different people on there with no response :(

Cheers

477827 2006-08-12 23:39:00 Many, many years ago we fostered a baby girl. She came to us with NO birth cert. When she was 5 years old we adopted her. We were given a birth cert with HER first names & OUR surname. Later on we did some research for her & found TWO birth registry numbers for her. They would only give us a copy of OUR Suname cert, saying that they were not allowed to disclose information from the Original one. That rule has changed since then. I wonder if the same applies to you, two registry entries? Good luck anyway. From my Family Tree researches I found Relatives I never knew of & information that I have cherished & loathed. Be prepared for this, not everyone will greet you with open arms. Please DO PM me if you want to chat. PJ Poppa John (284)
477828 2006-08-14 20:30:00 I also found out that one of mum's close friends had a son to him of which she adopted out as soon as he was born .

Well I thought I had found her on oldfriends so e-mailled to see . . . . . . . yep it is her . Now to work out 1 . if I want to raise it with her & 2 . if I do how do I go about wording it without making anyone upset .

Cheers

477829 2007-04-17 09:13:00 Bit of an update . . . . . I found out where my biological father lives & have been for a look last time I was up that way . Still not sure if I'm keen to try contact him . . . . I also found out his fathers name & where he lives (so my biological grandfather) . I went for a look at his place as well . . . . heard some not so flash stories about the both of them so not really sure weather I want to take that any further or if so what I might want to do etc .

I have however made contact with my half sister!!:) that has been awesome . . . . have not met her in person yet but have spoken over e-mail & text messaging many many times since then & am looking forward to meeting her sometime this year .

I really want to find the older brother . . . . it's frustrating knowing his mother who obviously has the info but can't give it to me, not sure what I can do there . . . . . . looks like siblings have no legal rights to birth certs etc . etc . I have also found out who my biological father was with after my sisters mother . . . . she may be the mother of another younger brother, I really need to track her down to follow that link any further .

Cheers
