477125 2006-08-08 11:04:00 Plod - Yes, I realised that :) Yes, but my thinking was if I do go new, with no experience with such fast powerful things, I would destroy it :p but I guess if I am careful and look after it well it will be fine. I was thinking of getting an RTR model, but go for the kits later when I have more experience with the workings of them.

Yeah, I guess so...

Metla - Interesting, I will look into it, the site seems fine to me. I signed up to the site, will post there tomorrow.

477126 2006-08-08 11:09:00 Yeah, The site is about a year out of date, nothing listed has any bearing on their current stock, and emails to them go "missing" so often its not even worth trying. Nor do they answer questins directed at them via their forums.

As for RTR's, Im pretty sure just about all of teh Nitro kits are now pre-built, The Savage certainly is, thjough it maybe available as a kit as well.

Just had a quick squizz at Tower Hobbies, They have the Savage X (RTR, No assembly) with a Radio at $449 usd, which comes out at 719.765 NZD, add another $30 to $50 for postage and your done.EDIT- Some of the freqencies used in the USA are banned for use here in NZ.

Though I would try locally first, But NZ can't compare to the range available internationally.

477127 2006-08-08 11:20:00 I just noticed that after spending a little more time looking  Oh... I see you are on there now :p

Yes, as far as I have seen most are, I know there was a Savage kit, but I am not sure what happened to it.

Wow, that is not too bad, I thought they would be well up in the $1000 mark.

Yes, I was looking to go in the Wellington area for something if possible

477128 2006-08-08 13:34:00 Oh hells yeah, RC ftw.
Speaking from experience, don't drive one underneath a moving car. They are bigger than RC cars. RC cars die.

477134 2006-12-08 21:21:00 Little helicopters flown inside are where the action is. It's like dancing in a mincer. That third dimension is what sorts things out (or more frequently, unsorts them). I have the scars on my ceiling and about my person to show that all dimensions are fully utilised. It's no harder than juggling, on a unicycle, on a steep slope, in the dark. R2x1 (4628)
