476914	2006-08-10 17:06:00	I had AOL for a few years...it was a love-hate relationship. They provided some neat devices and applications, a good news service and flashy productions. I especially like the music vids they had...but it all has a big price in security and fouled-up browser hijacks. Since it is on an IE platform with silicon implants, it looked pretty good..but was full of plastic...if you'll pardon the parallel. Viruses and spy ware are rampant in the system, and not worth the troubles they bring. Tech support (an oxymoron, in the very least!) was from people called "Fred" and "Jim" speaking English as a second language. Using monikers like that are a sure tip-off. I finally had enough of their nonsense and after my being very insulting to them, which is the only thing they understand, I got off the hook. Logic and reasoning do not work...you've got to draw verbal blood to get their attention. Screaming into the phone (on a 2-second delay) is fun and makes for some really neat sound effects on both ends of the line: you get to hear what you just said in the echo, and you get to hear their gasping for air from the insults to them, their mother, camels and the animal kingdom and the rest of their gene pool. I am not proud of my carrying on, but it worked. I was desperate! :xmouth:	SurferJoe46 (51)
