| 707497 | 2008-09-24 09:59:00 | Hi I can not open Help and Support on my Windows XP system. I get the message that the helpctr.ext file is missing. I have tried the recommended fix on the Microsoft site but to no avail. It seems my Help service might not be running but when I went to look at the services to turn this back on it was not listed. Any suggestions to fix much appreciated. Thanks Paul |

| 707501 | 2008-09-25 22:38:00 | Hi Tried Office repair. Still no luck. When I try to open help and support from Windows start menu I get the message: "Windows can not open Help and Support because a system service is not running. To fix this problem, start the service named "Help and Support"". The only problem is Help and Support is not listed in the Service menu. Any other ideas? Thanks |

Then run it Registry cleaners can do this. So, whatever you have biff it and get something like ccleaner. If you havent got it |

| 707504 | 2008-09-29 19:29:00 | Put the XP cd (not office, its not an office file) in, then go to the I386 folder Find helpctr.ex_ and copy it to a folder on the hdd. Just call the folder extra. Put it on C. Then open a command prompt Type the folder, you copied it to (cd c:\ extra) Then type expand helpctr.ex_ helpctr.exe Then copy it to C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries |
