| 1430701 | 2017-01-15 18:49:00 | Which 'Free' Office suite software is recommended? Open Office, Libre Office, or Kingsoft Office? Are they all compatible with MS Office 2013? |

| 1430702 | 2017-01-15 20:41:00 | I prefered Libre , but I dont use it (I have Office) They should be pretty much compatible, but may default to saving new docs in a weird format that others might have difficulty opening There may be issues with some advanced docs , spreadsheets etc , eg macros might not work or formatting may be a bit off . However , there is even the occasional compatibility issue between different versions of MS Office (rare, but happens) Need to be more specific: just Word, or Word Excel, publisher, powerpoint compatability |

| 1430704 | 2017-01-16 02:57:00 | I now use Libre but I have tried all! Give them a trial run as the price is right? Like 1101 says, the compatibility issue only matters if you are dealing with complex word stuff. |

| 1430705 | 2017-01-16 03:23:00 | I have used LibreOffice in Linux for years now and find it very good. But it does lack somewhat in compatibility with MS Office, especially with .docx format. Just recently I've been checking out WPS Office (https://www.wps.com/) (was previously called Kingsoft Office). The Writer (Word) part seems to be more compatible with Word in document formatting from what I've seen with my limited testing so far. I think the interface is similar to the MS Office 'ribbon' interface too. It's a really nice piece of software and I'm quite impressed with it. I'm using the free version in Linux and even though it's considered an alpha release for testing it seems pretty stable. |

| 1430706 | 2017-01-16 03:38:00 | I have been trying to download the WPS Office, it takes ages to download and after half an hour or so it finally downloaded but when I try to install it, error window pops up say that the downloaded file is corrupted, (something to that effect). Tried two time downloading it today. Give up, finally. Will go with Libre Office. |

Stick with Libre, better choice... :) All this from experience. LL |

| 1430709 | 2017-01-16 04:48:00 | Sometimes the connections to WPS an be slow, usually its only temporary. Used the earlier testing /Beta Version for ages, stable as. You can change the default formats it saves in within the options, and it saves / opens .docx files good as gold. Just tried the link Rod gave - no problems, downloaded at 11MB /Sec and its a 71.3 MB download -- Do the maths ;) |

LL Maybe you got it from the wrong place. The ONLY warning or so called "malware" is a temp setup file that tries to connect back home just like 99% of all software. Installed What was Kingsoft / WPS on lots of customers computers as well as my own and no signs of malware, browser hijacks or any other type of unwanted "extra". |
