1430272 2016-12-27 04:54:00 Anyone had any experience with mini freeview decoders.
Looking for something small enough to be hide behind a flat screen.
Are there any about, other than the one below?

Or has anyone used this one & can recommend it.

Once the correct wireless password was put in it work perfectly. The only down side was the remote seems a little slow in responding.

We have been using one of those S7030 satellite receivers for the last 2 years of full time motorhome travel. It is used daily. Velcroed to the back of our 24" 12V TV. Perfect so far. Shop around though. I paid $120 for mine and purchased another for a friend for $129 about two months ago.

1430276 2016-12-27 21:35:00 We have one connected to a satellite dish. It works OK, remote feels a bit light, and its a bit slow to boot up. Otherwise OK. Laggard (17509)
1430277 2016-12-28 07:49:00 I guess you know that's this one is a DVB-S, satellite dish, meaning you can only record in standard definition.

In New Zealand, you need DVB-T, a UHF antenna, for high definition.

Also it uses USB2 external storage, usually meaning a thumb / flash drive. It's possible to get a 64 GB flash drive for about NZ $50.

Again because it's recording in standard definition, instead of HD, should give you several days of recordings.

If you don't mind the reduced resolution, it seems fine. Remember that HDMI output is NOT the same as HD recording. The SD recording would be upsized to HDMI resolution.

It only has a single tuner, so you likely can't record on a different channel, while you watch live a different channel. (This would require more than one tuner)

However you should be able to play completed recordings, while another is being recorded.
