1430031 2016-12-20 20:56:00 Oooooo-kay I'll clear the air and admit I'm a Top Gear fanboy.

I'm also old and all this 'streaming' stuff goes right over my head, but it appears to get my fix I need to hook up to Amazon Prime. My question is, how do I do this?

Last night I spent considerable time playing on the new Panasonic going through all the apps trying to find the above, with no luck. I found a fair few including the current suspects like Netflix and Lightbox etc so I assume I'm looking in all the right places...

So I've come to two conclusions:

1/ I need a 14 year-old to do this for me but coercing one off the street raises a whole raft of legal/morale issues, or
2/ It's not actually available yet, as in the 'app' for Amazon Prime and at some point it will just miraculously appear on my telly.

Does anyone else have any words of wisdom?

Cheers guys.

1430032 2016-12-20 21:28:00 What is the model# of your Panasonic TV?
And have you actually signed up for an Amazon Prime Video account?

You can see instructions here for the different devices but you need an account to sign to first:

1430033 2016-12-20 21:41:00 It's also a matter of the app being released in our country for your device (which is not the same as being able to access it - which we can do now)

Its only been officially available in NZ for about 2 weeks - and depending on the manufacturer will depend on how on to it they are getting it added to their app catalog (if ever).

No idea about the model number - my theory was it's so new it wouldn't matter. But if it does I can find it.

As for the account - I thought I'd find the 'app' first before mucking around with that.

That make sense to me - I'm guessing I need to wait for Panasonic NZ (?) to add it so it can be seen on their TV's.

1430036 2016-12-20 23:25:00 According to the stuff article dated 17th Dec, its here now amazon-launches-prime-video-in-new-zealand-more-than-200-countries (www.stuff.co.nz) Cheap as well.

You may have to connect a device to the TV unless the TV has a browser embedded for the mean time, until the App comes out.

Here ya go - give it a try :) let everyone know how it works :D ( or not) link from articl above - gives 7 day free trial. https://www.primevideo.com/

1430037 2016-12-21 02:13:00 Just got this from Panasonic. I'd be gutted to miss out on the app for the sake of a few months. Will cross that bridge when I get to it ..

Thank you for your e-mail.

We have had some enquiries for Amazon Prime – I have checked with our Product Manager and have been advised that an app for Amazon Prime is being developed for our 2017 model but here is no information yet of if or when an app will be available for previous models

Yeah, that's what I figured. But 'streaming' means I need to rely on a good internet connection right?
And the one we have is utter crap - ADSL (or VDSL, whichever is meant to be the fastest) through Spark.

Still...how can you not love someone that drives a tank through a Dubai mall.
