1431454 2017-02-01 08:57:00 Speedy - The Lexma did not work - haha I guess it is for an old wireless  mouse but somewhere I have a second USB adapter for WIFI.

The generic unbranded adapter is, according to the pop up box near the System Tray: Realtek RTL8188CU wireless LAN 802.1
- This also appears in Devices and Printers

Show Available Networks --> Clicking on the Hidden Network WIFI, I entered the SSID of the wireless router that our fibre is connected to. I did this twice but get "Cannot connect to this network" . When the USB adapter is removed this "Hidden Network" disappears. I am going zzz :sleep zzz now and will see what suggestions you or others come up with tomorrow. :thanks

edit...
OK regarding Teamviewer. Will catch you tomorrow.

1431455 2017-02-01 09:51:00 You type in the password thats in the modem, not the ssid to connect to it

Login to the modem and see what the password is. Or it maybe on the bottom of it. Thats what you type in to connect to it wirelessly

I would also make sure it's on WPA 2 Personal. Dont leave it on WPS or WEP

Speedy I did try the password, twice. However the Show Available Networks box states "Enter the name SSID of the network". I even tried putting in the MAC ID.

Do not know if it is WPA 2 Personal. Will check but will have to google to see how to do this.

1431458 2017-02-01 21:50:00 dugimodo - Thanks for the reply. I am using the mobo VGA port to the monitor. The manual actually shows an HDMI port - which I never knew was there, ha! The manual also shows that for Dual display output it is possible to use HDMI and D-Sub. I had to google 'D-Sub' and see that it is the connector that VGA uses, therefore it does appear that the mobo will :) allow dual display. However...

The mobo also has a DVI-D port. Dual display is possible with DVI and D-Sub. [DVI and HDMI dual display is not supported.] The spare monitor that I have has a DVI connector and a VGA connector but not HDMI. Is it possible to connect this spare monitor DVI to DVI? [Leaving my main monitor VGA to VGA.] Or is the DVI port only for playing DVD and Blu-ray?

I would like to connect my PC to both of our wireless printers (laser and an ink jet).

You dont need a Graphics card. Plugging in a graphics card sometimes make the onboard VGA unusable
Use vga & DVI connector on the motherboard . You'll need a DVI-D cable , or a HDMI to DVI convertor cable/adaptor
en.wikipedia.org

Good luck with wireless printers , you'll need it (they can be a pain to setup)
How do you connect to the internet, via network cable ? If so , you dont need wifi to connect to wifi printers (if setup correctly)
Run the printer install software & see if the printer is detected . As long as the printer is conected to the wifi, it should work via the PC network cable

If buying a PCI wifi card, that often means the arial will be at the back of the PC where it might not get the best signal if wifi is marginal in your room

1431459 2017-02-01 22:05:00 Got the wireless to work, now he's trying to fix the wireless printer. The PC was connected with a cable, but told Strommer to remove after the wifi connected

The printer did work with the cable (obviously). But he wants to use it wirelessly. So he'll have to reconfigure / and maybe reinstall the printer drivers

1431461 2017-02-01 22:40:00 Ta :) Not too sure why the modem was being stupid. Couldnt get into it's settings with the ip that was on the bottom of the modem. It kept timing out on us

To see what the wifi security was on, and to see what the password was

But we did finally get into it

Looks like its working now had to uninstall / reinstall the printer drivers and select wireless.

1431462 2017-02-02 01:20:00 :thanks A BIG THANKS to everyone for your assistance, especially to :clap Speedy. Getting the USB WIFI adapter to work was not an easy fix but Speedy eventually succeeded. Yes I did have to uninstall - reinstall the printer software, opting for a wireless set up. All good now. Have ordered an active HDMI to VGA + audio adapter off eBay - saves at least half the cost and I am not in any hurry.

Again, thanks PF!ers!! :banana
