| 1431029 | 2017-01-25 22:18:00 | Browsing the Sony site I found reference to a download Playmemories software.... reading the blurb this suggests to me that it will allow you to write discs which can be played back via a DVD player onto a television.....tinyurl.com If someone has a moment to check that I would appreciate an opinion. As usual I cannot find a simple "Contact us" link to ask the question. | Bryden (4161) | ||

| 1431031 | 2017-01-25 23:02:00 | I use Wondershare DVD Creator (www.wondershare.com) to create my DVDs. Sure, I have had to pay for it, but it is well worthwhile and very easy to use. I burn onto Verbatim DVD-R Inkjet Printable media and I use the PAL format. For copying DVDs, I use either "1 Click DVD Copy Pro" or "DVDFab 10". |

Also Mitsubishi disks, but they are actually more expensive and made in the same factory. Don't use cheapo Disks, they appear to work fine at the time but often develop problems over the next few months. |

As usual I cannot find a simple "Contact us" link to ask the question. Personally I wouldnt install that Too many maybees "Your Sony camera must be authenticated by the computer" "question" " An error message [Some of the selected media files will not be written to the disc because they are in file formats that are not supported.] appears." - so does it convert or not : couldnt see in a quick look on the website Its an image management program, it might take over other function on the PC ( ie opening/importing photos etc) "I cannot find a simple "Contact us" link to ask the question?" You wont get much support for free software |

| 1431034 | 2017-01-26 04:24:00 | Speedy - apologies, I overlooked your suggestion..... In the meantime I got my son to plug the USB drive into his relatively new LG 42" TV and it played the videos in MP4 fine..... so looks like I don't have to worry about converting the films.... For some reason the camera takes two copies of each video - one the numbering system start with C00 and the other starts MAH. Could this be something set in the camera perhaps.... I am now suggesting they get a couple of external hard drives and use those to store their films - two copies so they have a back-up if anything goes wrong with one.... Again, thanks to everyone who replied to me - it is great to have knowledgeable people willing to help. Bryden |
