1429522 2016-12-05 02:01:00 Yesterday I spent all day at a gala/open day/fundraiser, effectively tied to one of the stalls, as were many other people. It occurred to me it would be very useful to be able to put out a message saying "I need...." that would be received by a roaming helper who could then find me and do whatever fetching and carrying I needed. It could probably be implemented by using txts, but ideally I would like to be able to just enter the message and click send and it would go to one or more people who were set up to receive it, i.e. I wouldn't have to worry about entering specific addresses/phone numbers.

I'm guessing there many apps that could do what I want, but I'm not much of a social media/instant messaging person so I thought I'd called on the collective wisdom of the PF1 community to offer suggestions.

Any ideas?

I'll give it a go. All I'd have to do now is persuade a bunch of tech-averse potters that this will actually make life easier!
Thanks.

No seriously, point out how handy this program is for everyone to keep in touch, and other situations with family and other groups where it could be used'
Teach the how to install and use the program.
Quite often some of us more mature citizens like to show the youngsters we still have a few tricks up our sleeves! (Presuming this applies to your group profile).
