479036 2006-08-18 02:10:00 The clipon ammeter is just showing before and after using the magic box. Whether the meter used by the power company responds in the same way is the $40 question. PaulD (232)
479037 2006-08-18 02:34:00 $40 is probably a reasonable price for a clipon ammeter .

I have already invented a power saving device . It just plugs into any 3 pin socket, and saves, not 30%, 100% of the power which would otherwise be used by any appliance plugged into it .

It is guaranteed to work .

It's an "interrupted phase tapon" .

Of course your grandmother probably told you to always have a light bulb in the socket otherwise the electricity leaks away

479038 2006-08-18 03:09:00 The Q&A's are rather worrying. I will have to check if my electricity has fever when I get home. mejobloggs (264)
479039 2006-08-18 03:17:00 A cold compress will cure most cables that have a fever. Kelem (10339)
479040 2006-08-18 03:27:00 But what if it's internal wiring? Can I soak one end in lemon juice, and have it absorbed through to help the rest of the wires? mejobloggs (264)
479041 2006-08-18 03:41:00 Maybe there's hope for me if I stick one into one of my 'sockets'... no more short sharp shocks... or do I need something different for that? :stare: Shortcircuit (1666)

Nah, I find my electricity use is reduced if I stick my fingers into the socket.
Cheaper too.

479043 2006-08-18 04:25:00 Hey, but you might get fever from the skin contact of your electricity. Burning skin, sweating etc... mejobloggs (264)

Thanks for the tip, I'm always looking for fun free things to do around the house

Any hope of 'glow in the dark' after effects? Would love to scare the other half... now that's what I call free fun :)

I do like the looks of that clip-on anmeter, but not sure if I'd want it clipped onto my power cable or earth rod
