| 708370 | 2008-09-28 19:52:00 | Im trying to setup my wireless USB adaptor on a Presario 700 notebook. All goes normally until I enter the password and get the following message. The network password needs to be 40bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 assci characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters. Ive never struck this before and Ive set up a number of notebooks for visitors so they can use my broadband. The password is 8 characters by the way. All help appreciated. |

The other option if the password is correct is to temp remove the protection from the router - make it open / no password, then see if it will connect, assuming it does, enable the security and try again. |

| 708372 | 2008-09-28 20:32:00 | Thanks Wainuitech. Shes all fixed. I found another area where you had to enter the password twice. Having done that we were away. Seems the installation had brought up the procedures in the wrong order. Its never happened before but heeey they are computers. :D |
