480590 2006-08-24 22:56:00 I lost my mobile.... a fair while back, and I thought someone else would have been making good use of it by now.

Yet I just rang it today, and it went straight to my voicemail, with my voice. So yeah, if someone else had it, surely they would have changed that?

Therefore I think it's lost at home somewhere

What I want to know is....

You know how you can set an alarm clock on your phone, and even if the phone is off, it will ring the alarm at that time?

Is there any way to do this remotely?? That would be very nice. A special number you can ring or something?

480591 2006-08-24 23:12:00 If the phone went to your voice mail, its either turned off of the battery is flat or it's out of service range.

So just how would you access it remotely to do what you require?

Also consider the hacking potential if you could do what you wanted.....a security nightmare!

480592 2006-08-24 23:23:00 Nono, I just thought if an alarm could make it ring while it was off, maybe there was other way you could make it ring while its off.

Maybe the phone maker has a special signal they can send to it or something.

Ehh. I'm just dreaming. What state of idiocy I must have possesed to lose it. Duh.

Thanks Scouse.

Trouble is, "off" in terms of the RF part means its not receiving at all, even though the phone electronics still work locally..
So it would not know if a signal was available, even if there was such a technology.

480596 2006-08-25 01:56:00 Surely you cancelled your phone account or had your SIM card disabled when you realised it had been stolen? If the theives are using your phone number, then they are potentially making phone calls at your expense! alasta (6652)

480599 2006-08-25 05:14:00 Another question.

When I first lost it, I tried ringing it.

All I heard on was.... nothing. It didn't actually seem to ring, didn't go to voicemail or anything.

What does that mean?
