| 479771 | 2006-08-21 01:03:00 | How rude is this - Telecom just reset my connection. The router had lost connection, I rebooted it and checked what the line speed is now reported at in the router. Since April it has been 4288, regardless of the actual real speed I get, suddenly I now have 1952 according to the router. Telecom have not consulted me about this, no-one has contacted me and they just do this without any discussion at all?? I'm totally outraged. This will be because of my ongoing refund each month. I had rung this morning for this months refund and this time they tell me the note from the Mnagaer - Bruce Sutherland has mysteriously vanished from my notes. This was the guy who had decided this was my "solution" - they'll refund me until such time as the exchange is "fixed". Because it would be cheaper to refund one moaner rather than spend thousands on the problem. Obviously this has gotten up their nose now so they "fix" it by putting me on a lower speed plan. Which of course, fixes nothing. I got at best 600kbps before, and now its no different, just the router reports differently, and more than likely my data limit has been cut as well. |

Maybe you've moaned so much that they are going to cut everyone else so you all go back to the 2Mb plans that worked in back of beyondsville :-) |

They want to play games, I'll move not only broadband but my phone and the cellphone. i was paying $70 or so a month for 256kb with a 3gb cap, so i challenged telecom to lower the price to the same as the ihug plan i was looking at and they declined, ah well, so i moved to ihug and never looked back, 2mb with a 20gb cap for $49.95 a month. if only they understood that when i changed my internet i also changed my home phone and business connection and phone. ;) |

| 479777 | 2006-08-21 23:25:00 | Mr Sutherland rang me this morning. They say they now consider 600kbps to be acceptable. I told him that I know they do as I am aware of their wording change - "Your speed will be whatever you are able to get" - due soon. I also told him that they had be do all this checking round Wyndham for them, I waited patiently while they got around to sorting the exchange, even though they had not given me a date for it, I am aware they aren't going to bother now, that the resetting of my connection to a lower plan without consulting me was spiteful, childish and unprofessional and their entire behaviour is as well. That they have lost my sympathies regarding the whole Telecommunications structure in NZ because of their evasiveness, denial and spiteful behaviour, not just with my situation but in general. I pointed out that other users here in Wyndham were waiting to see what the outcome would be via me, and all they are doing is connecting even more users to broadband here without even bothering to mention the problems with it, and that they won't get anywhere near the speed they are payting for and that sums up their whole attitude in general so if I (and others here that choose) are going to be stuck with sub-standard broadband, then we won't be paying Telecom for it but will take our business elsewhere. He didn't deny it, protest or even apologise. So stuff them. Xnet is offering VOIP at the end of the year and I'll seriously look at changing our phone services to them as well. |

I can't understand why they don't roll the whole district back to the 2M plans that worked. You have said that speeds were OK then. The exchange seems to be choking on higher rate demand. |

I told them that months ago. Because they only offer the plans that they have and not variations. And then what about people on other ISP plans? They'd have to have them limited to 2mbps too. And of course, they don't care. Its not just this area, theres others too. |
