709001 2008-10-01 03:18:00 Hi all

Just got an Eee PC 900! :wub

BUT the wifi is not reliable - it takes ages on the 'Acquiring network address' phase and then is very slow when browsing the net. Sometimes it doesn't even display my homepage at all.

All other wireless devices can access the same local network through the same router.

I've looked on the eeeuser forum and it seems this is quite a common problem - but no solutions seem to work for the XP version - which I have.

A USB external wifi adaptor works fine on it.

The internal card is an Atheros AR5007EG

Make sure that the mb drivers are installed (on the CD), you may only have the standard XP drivers installed.
You can speed up the connection by right clicking the radio ikon on the task bar and selecting properties, select 'Internet Protocol', properties, ok, close.
It usually connects.
