2008-10-01 00:25:00 | I keep getting this: Accessed file is infected! Threat Detected! File name: xxxxxxx\winamp5541_full_emusic-7plus_en-us.exe Threat name: Trojan Horse SHeur CLZE Application: SHDOCVW I tried to get a new version and AVG throws this up every time. What's going on? I cannot access ANY of it, even the old installation which was running good until last night.

2008-10-01 01:02:00 | I took ALL of WinAmp out...ran SpyBot - negative Ran CCleaner - lots of WinAmp-related stuff, but it's gone now...and ran the UnInstaller in CCleaner too just to make sure...so I've got it all out. Now I'm running a (3-hour...gasp!) AVG Full scan...and that's to check all 8 500G hdds and the <root> 40 Gig! Gack! Going to WinAmp now..but found a lot of chatter on German-Language sites and blogs about this problem. WinAmp is still talking about ZLOB and doesn't seem to have the skinny on this new problem.

2008-10-01 04:39:00 | I guess I'll wait a while to listen to WinAmp . . . or until this gets fixed . I found over 60 . exe files for the WinAmp installer when AVG did the whole scan . . . and it sent them to the RECYCLER . . . which I NEVER knew was really the recycle bin . . . . that's one that got past me . . ha! One thing I did was to install WinAmp on one of the unused 500G hdds . . . and it was pretty much all alone there except for a few odd things that I don't care if I keep or not . . . so if worse comes to worser . . . I can just burn down that hdd . . . and little is lost . :badpc:

2008-10-01 05:17:00 | About a year and a half ago, AVG decided all of my uninstall .exe files were corrupt. I assumed they were false positives, but could have been wrong. Been happy with Avast for the last year. Avast has picked up a couple too. :banana

2008-10-01 05:49:00 | the 'Heur' in the virus name means 'Heuristic'. This approach is used in Antivirus programs in an attempt to detect viruses which have not been discovered yet: "Most leading packages have a heuristic scanning method to detect new or previously undetected viruses in the wild. Heuristic scanners look for patterns or activities that are virus like, changes in file sizes, etc." Often an update to an antivirus program can cause it to detect legitimate programs as possible viruses, and cause false positives.
