709570 2008-10-03 06:05:00 I have a large number of photographs in TIFF format on my hard drive which need to be archived and backed up. If I back them up as TIFF’s its over 70 Cds, so some sort of compression is in order. I could convert them to JPGS, but don’t really want to, so that means some sort of zip program. Is the inbuilt zip program in XP up to scratch or am I better to look at a third party program. Has anyone any recommendations for a good free zip program. tutaenui (1724)

709572 2008-10-03 06:25:00 Do you have a DVD burner? If you do, burn them to DVD instead. DVDs hold 4.7GB - CDs hlod only 700MB (0.7GB)

They are fairly inexpensive now anyway - got mine for $60.
