709250 2008-10-02 19:42:00 Morning all,

I did have some, but it doesn't appear to work anymore. :p

There's a great program called oerepair, but it aint free.

A Google brings up hundred of programs, I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend me one they know works.
Software manufacturers have an annoying habit of telling you it's free, then when you recover the dbx file, only the first 10 messages can be shown unless you buy it.

TIA. :)

709251 2008-10-02 19:58:00 I have used Recovery Toolbox for Outlook (www.recoverytoolbox.com) in the past, about 18 months ago - BUT its not free.
Tried it first to make sure it would work ( several others didn't) and it did then wanted $$ - Customer was prepared to have me purchase the program and split the cost and I keep the program. The mails were very important and as usual no backups.

Recovered thousands of mails from a damaged .pst file after they went over 2Gb of mail and outlook went belly up.

709254 2008-10-02 20:08:00 How about this? (www.tucows.com)

It's a shareware ap with a 30 day trial - has a nag screen, but seems to be fully functional.

I don't use OE (:yuck: ) so I can't test it fully.

709255 2008-10-02 20:30:00 Tweak'e, that was just the ticket, I managed to find an older version to download and it's done the job great.

Nofam, thanks for the link. I had actually downloaded that same program earlier on in the day, thinking it would be great, and believe it or not, even though it offers a 30 day trial, it will only recovery the first 10 messages in a folder. :badpc:

I don't use OE that's for sure.

Thanks for having a look though.

709258 2008-10-03 00:21:00 Does dbxtract pull out attachments as well as msges? linw (53)
709259 2008-10-03 00:24:00 Does dbxtract pull out attachments as well as msges?

That is a very good question. There weren't any attachments that I was aware of in the emails (was only the Inbox). The PC is gone now, I can't check. No doubt i'll be hearing about it if it doesn't! ;)
