| 709154 | 2008-10-02 02:07:00 | I have an old scanner - Microtek E6, that is quite adequate for my needs, and I really don't want to replace it. However the SCSI adapter card for it is ISA, which means I have to keep an old PC with ISA slots going just for the scanner. I bought a PCI SCSI card on TradeMe, and when it arrived it has an HD68 connector on it (I don't know a lot about SCSI, so I didn't think to ask). The scanner has a centronics connector and the current card a DB25 connector, so what I need is either: A DB25 to HD68 converter, or A cable with Centronics-50 at one end and HD68 at the other. So my questions are: Is what I want technically feasible? Where can I get this stuff? A troll around the local suppliers hasn't thrown up anything, which is why I am posting here. TIA |

What research have you done for a cable/So I can plug into either the centronics or the DB-25 on the back of the scanner? I've had it so long, any documentation has disappeared long ago. My research has been limited to some net searches - none of which have shown me any of the options I need. Do you know of any local suppliers I could call? Of course if I can effectively reverse the cable, one adapter option would now be HD68 to Centronics, which I haven't looked for up till now. |

| 709158 | 2008-10-02 04:12:00 | DB25 to HD68 Cable from PBTech (www.pbtech.co.nz)Bingo! That looks exactly right. I never think of PBTech for some reason. I'll check it out tomorrow. | Tony (4941) | ||
