| 482891 | 2006-09-06 02:52:00 | Well, yes, Joe . The BBC, like most news organisations, employs subeditors . An important part of that job is writing headlines . It can be a creative challenge to convey the gist of a story in a short headline which will catch the attention of the reader . They are often people with a well developed sense of humour, and get "points" from their colleagues for a good headline . A headline like that is not "bleeding obvious" . It's a bleeding JOKE . It's a good 'un . The headline in theregister isn't . Unfortunately there are always people who treat everything they read as seriously as they take themselves . :( |
