THIS NEW LAW IS IN THE NEW ROAD CODE WHICH CAN BE VIEWED ON LINE. IT IS LAW AND FINES ARE IN PLACE. I AGREE ITS CRAP, BUT THATS REVENUE RAKING FOR YOU . I HAVE WRITTEN TO THE POLICE AND LTNZ AND ITS LIKE BANGING YOUR HEAD AGAINST A BRICK WALL, THEY ARE LOOKING AFTER THEIR EXTORTION SCAM

482761 2006-09-16 11:45:00 How about the idiots that blast along at 100+ in fog with no lights on at all. Park lights are for that. They are useless when moving. wotz (335)

Has a retractable hardtop.
Would have thought that if car changes from one thing to another, then it is converted, hence convertible.

482765 2006-09-19 05:29:00 What can be agreed on,is that having second best in both cases can indeed be depressing.G_F.
There can be no consolation.Getting in a ragtop with an antique anchor, knowing there is quality out there, could for a lesser person be too much.

482766 2007-01-14 03:14:00 even AA recommend having headlight on in daytime, however they also recommend blinding people with high beams so you can imagen what i think of them.

Alot of new cars have headlights that switch on automatically with the turn of the ignition. It's a road safety initiative which is supposed to make cars more visible at greater distances. The practice is compulsory in Sweden, Hungary, Israel and Canada. I believe there may be some countries that ban it, however.

The AA do not recommend blinding people with high beams. Not sure where you read that.

Personally I don't see headlights in daytime a problem. They can help make darker vehicles more visible at greater distances, especially as the wearing of sunglasses is so commonplace. They don't have a blinding effect during daytime because of the surrounding light.
I find the common use of foglights (or these extra, low level headlights) at night more of an issue with dazzling motorists.
