"Companion animals" are primarily gathered along with dropped beef (cows that go "plunk in the night"), and the resultant product finds it's way into many things that are edible. :nerd: So that's where McDonalds get the meat for the burger patties from. I've always wondered. |

| 482583 | 2006-09-15 09:00:00 | What ever happened to Steve Irwin, the title of this thread? If you don't recognise the guy as a "Saint" you get knobbled!:groan: On another forum I acknowledged his passion and the insights he gave all of us regarding the animal kingdom . But I also gave my views on a so-called loving father holding a small baby in his arms while he provoked a croc . How it would only take steve tripping and the baby would have been croc feed instantly . Well I got a very long post, no paragraphs, in reply raving about the "great guy" and how they had about 5-6 minders in the pen, and another god-knows-how-many minders around the edge to jump on the croc if anything happened . They also fed the croc before performing the display . AFAIC - They knew damn well it was dangerous and stupid . A croc is a croc, and hungry or not, if some fool is going to tempt him with another snack, well bring it on, mate . It would have been over in seconds . No amount of macho guys could have stopped it . When I saw that on TV, any good thoughts I had about Steve Irwin vanished . He became just another eccentric foolhardy ocker trying to keep the public's fascination for his zoo, who got payback, albeit from the water rather than the animal variety . Stingray - reorganise the letters and you get = Its Angry My thoughts are with Terri, Bindy and Bob, also Steve's dad . Sorry if anyone finds this offensive, its just my personal opinion . |

Some confused lady in Australia started the rumor, I heard . Of course there is a slight chance that maybe there were elements of truth in the rumor though, we will see
. . See email below from a friend in Australia . Dave Forwarded Message From: Tim Carré Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2006 15:53:33 +1000 To: Subject: Steve Irwin apology I would like to deeply and humbly apologise for (yesterday) forwarding to people the information regarding Steve Irwin becoming a Christian . That news was sent to me via a respected senior Pastor friend and the information is detailed below (see SHOP Weekly Newsletter) This morning I was informed that Steve Irwin did not attend the Church mentioned and that this did not take place, however Terri his wife and children have on occasions been attending a local Church in the region . I have since informed my Pastor friend (below) of the truth, received from another local minister who contacted the COC Church personaly, where he learnt first hand that the story as placed in this weekly newsletter below is indeed untrue . How dissapointing to hear! I feel guilty and dissapointed to have forwarded this on to you all, especially as some have also forwarded the great news onto many others . We have the memorial service here at the zoo in a few days time and Terri Irwin will speak for the first time live, maybe she has an encouraging story to tell God Bless Tim Carré Faith Stories International Original Message From: Jim Williams Sent: Thursday, September 14, 2006 11:43 AM Subject: SHOP Weekly Newsletter SHOP News (it means Springwood House Of Praise) 17th September 2006 Here is the latest piece of news about Steve Irwin: I want to inform Creation Ministries International, that Steve Irwin became a born again Christian two and a half weeks ago at the Kings Church AOG Buderim, Queensland Australia, going forward publicly before the congregation to ask Christ to become his Lord and Saviour . Many of us will now spend eternity with him . I am sure Terri is comforted as a Christian in the fact that she will be with Jesus and also Steve again for eternity . | 482586 | 2006-09-20 20:38:00 | Snopes (hoax busting site) has the guff on Steve Irwin converting to Christianity. As suspected it is FALSE. See this page: www.snopes.com "Different versions of the Steve Irwin message have claimed that his conversion took place at any one of a number of churches on Australia's Sunshine coast, or perhaps through a chaplain working with a school or zoo in that area. According to Steve Penny, senior minister of Kings Christian Church on the Sunshine Coast Australia, all of those rumors are unfounded: " |
