482548 2006-09-05 13:25:00 It's a real shame about him. He was a great guy, to be sorely missed.

Crikey, it was too soon for him.

482549 2006-09-06 04:36:00 Germaine Greer, declaring "the animal world has finally taken its revenge" .

In her column in The Guardian newspaper, Greer said the wildlife warrior displayed the "sort of self-delusion it takes to be a real Aussie larrikin" .

"There was no habitat, no matter how fragile or finely balanced, that Irwin hesitated to barge into," she wrote . "Every creature he brandished at the camera was in distress . "

"The animal world has finally taken its revenge, but probably not before a whole generation of kids in shorts seven sizes too small has learned to shout in the ears of animals with hearing 10 times more acute than theirs, determined to become millionaire animal-loving zoo owners in their turn . "

And no doubt I'll be flamed for agreeing with her . Mustn't say bad things about the dead - especially the famous dead and all that .
But to me he was all Look at Me, me, me, me .

Your credibility on this forum has been destroyed on this forum sorry to say not only for your uninformed comments about Irwin but for quoting and agreeing with someone of the likes of Germaine Greer who lost all credibility years ago . You two deserve each other .

If one persists in teasing animals, one must take the consequences - sooner or later!

Well I won't flame you.

It occurrs to me that Germaine Greer more or less started the feminist movement.

Eventually most men lost their balls. Currently we have a female Prime Minister and she looks more male than I do.

I don't wear a dress or a kilt either.

If you had any children at school they just may like a male teacher but us males have been put off even applying for very obvious reasons.

It appears to me that some females can do without males except if they want a child in which case they find a donor.

Fortunately I can do without females of the Germaine Greer type.

As to Steve Irwin I thought that he teased the crocs and should not have done so. He also held a small child up while doing so. No different to Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a balcony.

Anyone who is famous will have the media about and it will hit the news.

As I'm not famous I can just get on with my life.
