709125 2008-10-02 21:00:00 What do you want in a motherboard?

SLI? Crossfire? How big an OC are we talking about here?

Asus have a fair amount in your price range, P45 is only Intel right? So we can rule out AMD mobos?

709126 2008-10-02 23:53:00 Recommend you a new motherboar?, you already have selected your options, P45 chipset, SLI and ASUS...LOL, they probably have a couple of options for you! SolMiester (139)

~$250

whoops, didnt see that you specified asus, havnt really dealt with them , ever actually.
Gigabyte from what ive seen has been very reliable and i cant say i know anyone who hasnt had or isnt running a gigabyte powered system at the moment.
i myself have a gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3, very capable motherboard.

709128 2008-10-03 00:27:00 ok, since you asked for asus, i have found asus,

www.asus.com
www.pricespy.co.nz
~$210-240

also another gigabyte mobo in a similar price range

www.gigabyte.com.tw
www.pricespy.co.nz

~$225-$255

both motherboards are very very similar with the gigabyte having a few more exotic features like port teaming on the 2 gigabit ethernet ports which seems to be becoming more common on gigabyte motherboards,
at the end of the day i woudlnt hesitate to reccomend either of theise motherboarsd based on featurs and price and performance.

Note that none of the aforementioned motherboards support SLI, they only support crossfire.
But considering the way ati is doing atm tht shouldnt be an issue.

edit

kinda gay, on closer inspection it seems that the second pcie16x slot on the 2nd 2 motherboards is only 8x

Where does he say anything about SLI?

Actually, now that I think about it, if he wants SLI he can't use P45. Duh.

Given that SLI is almost entirely based on what chipset you use.

Go to Ascent and use the search function they have there. You'll find something you like. There will probably only be a few there for you anyway. Gigabyte are OK too. Asus are typically the best, but if something else matches the bill better, I wouldn't discriminate if I were you.
