481598 2006-08-31 04:44:00 modernlifeisrubbish.co.uk/crash-ie.html[Do not visit that] Browser Test Site if you use IE 6 or earlier

[Edit: on a forum full of newbie IE users, saying do not click this link is the equivalent of saying don't touch the wet paint. By making the link non-clickable, this prevents curious user giving it a click. If it does crash your browser, then that will annoy them I imagine. If people wish to go ahead with that link, then they have to copy and paste it into their browser, which is a more deliberate action. Not to mention, there is a forum rule on posting malicious links ...]

481599 2006-08-31 05:14:00 [link edited]Browser Test Site if you use IE 6 or earlier Why? What is wrong with it? an explantion would be good... If you are going to tell us not to click something, we would like to know why :groan: The_End_Of_Reality (334)
481600 2006-08-31 05:18:00 It's a browser security test site which will crash IE6.

It does not crash FF or IE7. Not sure about other browsers.

Does that mean Opera 9.01 passed the test or that the site is down?

481603 2006-09-01 02:13:00 I just get a blank page. No crashing, and I do have IE6.

I think the site is down. maybe it crashed itself??

The site is not down, if you see 'prototype' or a blank page, then it is a sucessful test, the browser didn't crash.
It uses Javascript to write this.

Ditto. Quite good fun seeing poor old IE6 go slinking off with its tail between its legs. :D

Agent_24: Are you adding www. before pasting the rest of the address in your address bar? It won't do anything without that.
